The DGS-1210-28X/ME is the ideal solution for applications in Metro Ethernet. The switch features 24 10/100/1000Base-T and 4 ports 10GBase-X SFP+. Protection against static electricity ensures resilience against unexpected electrical spikes, while a full Suite of security features and authentication protects the network from internal and external threats. Fault tolerance/high performance The DGS-1210-28X/ME supports Spanning Tree protocols (STP): 802.1 D-2004 edition, 802.1 w and 802.1 s. STP protocols allow you to organize backup route data used in the event of a malfunction of the switch. The switch also supports 802.3 ad Link Aggregation, which enables the grouping of multiple ports and, consequently, increasing bandwidth and redundancy for higher availability. This model supports 802.1 p quality of service (QoS) that allows you to classify traffic in real-time on 8 queues using a strict priority processing and Weighted Round Robin (WRR). Packet classification is based on TOS, DSCP, MAC, IPv4, VLAN ID, port number, TCP/UDP, Protocol type, or content packages, user-defined, and provides a flexible adjustment for certain multimedia applications such as VoIP or IPTV. Security and authentication The DGS-1210-28X/ME supports access control 802.1 X port-based/host, the ability to create a guest VLAN, and authentication to RADIUS/TACACS+ for strict access control network. Function IP-MAC-Port Binding in the switch D-Link allows you to control the computer's access to the network based on their IP and MAC addresses, and port connection, extending, thus, the possibility of access control. Built-in function D-Link Safeguard Engine™ provides identification and prioritization of packets intended for processing by the processor switch to prevent malicious attacks that can disturb the normal functioning of the switch. In addition, the function of access control lists (ACL) enhances security and performance of your network. Management functions User-friendly Web interface provides easy management, and DHCP automatically provides advanced management, allowing administrators to pre-set configuration and save them to a TFTP server. Then separate the switch can obtain an IP address from the server and load the preset configuration settings. Protocol LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) allows network equipment to inform the local network about its existence and characteristics, helping you better manage the network topology. In addition, each switch port supports a cable diagnostic feature that helps detect faults, e.g., length or cable functionality. Traffic management and bandwidth The function of bandwidth management allows network administrators to define the throughput levels for each port increments up to 64 Kbit/s for incoming traffic. The DGS-1210-28X/ME also supports protection from broadcast storms, which minimizes the likelihood of virus attacks on the network. Port mirroring eases traffic diagnostics and helps administrators to monitor switch performance and alter it if necessary. Support IGMP Snooping reduces multicast traffic and to optimize network performance. Multicast The DGS-1210-28X/ME support the full feature set level 2 multicast, including IGMP Snooping, IGMP filtering, Fast Leave and configuration for multicast traffic on specific ports. Thanks to the support of this functionality the DGS-1210-28X/ME provides the opportunity to work with IPTV-services, enjoying a growing demand in the market. IGMP/MLD Snooping host-based enables the connection of multiple clients multicast group to one network interface. When using the ISM VLAN multicast traffic for the purpose of efficient expenditure of bandwidth transferred to a separate VLAN. The ISM VLAN profiles allow users to quickly and easily assign/change the preset settings on ports multicast registration information to subscriber.
